Info: David Brown, CEO of ACTIVZ Global, took an unconventional route into the world of direct selling. With a B.A. in Japanese from Brigham Young University and a J.D. from Cornell University Law School, he spent the early years of his professional life as a corporate lawyer at a national, Los Angeles-based law firm with a focus on Pacific Rim clients and transactions.
David entered the dietary supplement industry in 1994 when he became General Counsel for Natural Balance. He left the legal world for good when, two years later, he was named CEO of the company. In that role, he increased revenue by 500%, pioneering the company’s expansion of distribution from independent health food stores into the food, drug and mass markets. David then joined Metabolife International as CEO and led its transition from the direct selling channel into mass market retail, increasing revenue to over $500 million per year.
