Following on the great success of our inaugural Plant Chess Coaching Tournament, I'm happy to present the Spring Edition (or Edition 2 of this event). These tournaments are unrated but great practice into getting more into serious tournaments- if you've never played before in one. And the main idea of them is to try and transition again into more serious adult competitions as well (distinct from junior tournaments where for example 3 illegal moves lose. In this tournament it will be 2 illegal moves- whereas when I was a junior it was only 1 illegal move! XD) Of course though above all else the emphasis is still very much on having fun (rounds interspersed with my classic chess jokes/puns) and having fun in the context of healthy competition and learning! When: Sunday 11 October: 11am-2pm
Cost: $20 (Free for Plant Chess Coaching Yearly Members)
Address: Parallel Dance Academy- 344, Level 1/348 Rocky Point Rd, Ramsgate NSW 2217. Spaces are limited to 24 players
Time Control: 15 mins each per player per game.
Rules: Standard rules of chess apply like touch move and touch take. If you've never used a clock before (or are not used to these rules) I will go through them on the day for everyone.
