Typhee is one of the most striking new voices to emerge from Marseille.
The 23-year-old rapper from Beausoleil made his definitive breakthrough in 2026 as the winner of season 5 of *Nouvelle École* on Netflix, becoming the first artist from Marseille to win the prestigious rap competition.
His victory cemented his status as a rising star on the French rap scene.
With his distinctive blend of sunny melodies, raw honesty and melancholic street stories, Typhee offers a fresh perspective on contemporary Marseille. His lyrics explore life in the neighbourhood, doubts, ambition and love, always delivered with striking authenticity.
After an intense year full of releases and collaborations, he consolidated his artistic growth on the EP *T.Y.*, after which his career really took off. Typhee represents a new generation of Marseille rap: personal, melodic and unmistakably southern.
