About this Event
Two Birds , One Stone.
An evening with two uniquye acts that you may not normally see on the same bill. For our first edition of this style of show, we have brought in two talented artists to note: for the first time.
Kylie Austin -
Kylie Austin is a Calgary-based country-pop singer-songwriter who writes songs for the people who laugh through the hard stuff. Blending life's messy moments with a country twist, she has a knack for turning heartbreak, hope, and everyday experiences into songs that feel like late-night conversations with an old friend. Whether she's singing about family, love, or finding your footing through life's biggest changes, her music reminds listeners that even the hardest seasons deserve a soundtrack.
Her heartfelt storytelling has earned her a 97 South Songwriter Contest win, Emerging Artist recognition, performances at the World Women's Curling Championship, and interviews with both CJWE 88.1 and CJSW 90.9 FM. Kylie has also had the opportunity to write and learn alongside Grammy-nominated songwriter Bonnie Baker and CCMA Award winner Aaron Goodvin, continuing to develop a voice that is both honest and unmistakably her own.
Joey O'Neil -
Critically acclaimed Yukon songbird, Joey O'Neil, is bewitching audiences across Canada with hauntingly heartfelt anecdotes from a woodland life. Offering vulnerable vocals, engaging banter, and bittersweet wordplay floating atop a bed of fingerpicked guitar, O'Neil's clever sincerity is sure to make you laugh and cry simultaneously. With a decade of touring to her name, her live performance has been described as “gentle and intimate” by Exclaim! and “absolutely touching, even a little heartbreaking” by NEXT Magazine. After the release of O'Neil's latest album, Phantom Vibes (2023), she’s earned regular spins on CBC Afterdark and a place on !earshot's National Folk/Roots/Blues chart.
When away from her off-grid Klondike cabin, O'Neil has showcased at Folk on the Rocks, Dawson City Music Festival, Atlin Arts & Music Festival, BreakOut West, Wintersong, Highlands Music Festival, NXNE, and Contact East while warming stages for Basia Bulat, Jennifer Castle, and Julie Doiron.
