About this Event
Mosaic lamps have lit homes and bazaars across Turkey for generations, and in this hands-on Turkish mosaic lamp workshop in Phoenix, you get to make one yourself. No art background needed. You start by browsing patterns for ideas and pick your colors from trays of hand-cut Turkish glass tiles and beads. Your instructor shows you how to plan a layout and set each piece, then checks in as your pattern takes shape. Between tiles, sip complimentary Turkish coffee and enjoy traditional baklava, a small taste of the hospitality that goes with this craft. Sessions take place at Holiday Inn Express Tempe, just south of Phoenix, with free parking on site. The convenient Tempe location makes it an easy creative outing for guests coming from Phoenix, Tempe, and nearby East Valley communities. The class makes an easy Phoenix date night, a birthday outing, a bachelorette activity, or a team-building event people actually talk about afterward. It's also a memorable gift for someone who loves making things. Kids 8 and up are welcome with an adult. When you're done, switch on your lamp, watch the colored glass scatter light across the room, and take your finished piece home.
