About this Event

ABOUT THE CUISINE

Turkish cuisine comes from the crossroads of Europe and Asia and reflects a rich history of Ottoman, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern influences. It combines fresh vegetables, grains, legumes, herbs, and spices to create vibrant, flavourful dishes. Meals are hands-on, social, and meant to be shared, with signature dishes like Kisir, Manti, and Sigara Boregi highlighting the warmth, variety, and communal spirit of Turkish food culture.

ABOUT THE CHEF

A message from chef Bushra:

“Hi, I’m Bushra. I’m originally from Turkey and now live in London with my husband. My passion for cooking started in childhood with my mother’s support. I began making cakes and salads at a young age, and over time, my love for food grew stronger. While working as a teacher in Turkey, I also created an Instagram account to share my favourite recipes. Through it, I connected with many food lovers. I especially enjoy making desserts, traditional Turkish meals, and exploring global cuisines. I love experimenting to find the very best recipes for traditional Turkish dishes. I try techniques from different chefs; each dish feels like a new journey. Two years ago, I was introduced to Migrateful through a friend, and during one of their events, I found myself dreaming of being part of their journey. Now, being a part of this amazing team brings me so much happiness, and I’m truly grateful to everyone who has supported me along the way. Every class is a chance to connect through food, learn something new, and share joy. I can’t wait to cook with you and create delicious memories together!”.

THE CLASS FORMAT

Our cookery classes are family-style - meaning everyone works together to prepare the dishes as a team.

While you’ll be asked to choose one dish to focus on, you’ll have the opportunity to move around the kitchen, help with other dishes, and learn from each recipe. It’s a fun, social, and collaborative way to cook! At the end of the class, you’ll sit down with the chef, class facilitator and volunteers to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve created together.

REMINDERS

We’re excited to have you in the class! Please take note of a few final reminders:

  • Please see our allergens policy here: Food and Allergens Policy
  • We recommend using a debit or credit card to pay (paypal takes 48 hours to be confirmed).
