🎉🐔 It’s Turkey Tailgate Time, Y’all! 🐔🎉Get ready for one of our favorite traditions — the Operation Turkey 2026 Turkey Tailgate! This is where the magic (and the smoke) begins. Our incredible pitmasters are firing up the smokers to cook nearly 800 turkeys, and we need YOU to help make it all happen!
🦃 When: Wednesday, November 25th
🦃 Where: Dave and Buster's (9333 Research Blvd)
Here’s your chance to roll up your sleeves and be part of something big:
✨ Prep & season turkeys to get them smoker-ready.
✨ Load and unload turkeys from the pits like a pro.
✨ Help with the cooling process (it’s a turkey spa day).
✨ Sort dry goods and accept pie donations from the amazing Bake A Wish crew.
✨ Assist in transporting food and supplies to our six distribution locations so we’re all set for Thanksgiving morning, when we’ll deliver 16,000 meals across Austin and our surrounding cities.
✨ We will be outside so dress for the weather, comfortable shoes, and clothes you do not mind getting a little turkey juice on!
✨ Bring your water bottle and a snack- remember we are out in a parking lot.
✨ Restrooms are located inside Dave & Buster's but not until they open at 11am. They will have a water station set up inside.
✨ Operation Turkey T-shirts and hats will be on sale for $25 each (venmo, cash, paypal, debit and credit card accepted)
✨ There is no official sign-up for the Turkey Tailgate- just show up ready to help.
Not up for heavy lifting? That’s okay! Stop by to soak in the action, give hugs, high-fives, or fist bumps, and witness the dedication of this 100% volunteer-powered tradition.
🌟 This is Year 26 of Operation Turkey, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing family of volunteers. Whether you’re a seasoned Turkey Tailgate vet or a first-timer, there’s a spot for you here.
Let’s keep this tradition strong, Austin — see you at the pit! 💛🦃
