🎶 Tunes & Tales presents Billy Fortune Unit Bluegrass: The History of the Bean Blossom Festival 🎶Join us for the next installment of Tunes & Tales, a new series at the Jefferson County History & Art Center that brings history to life through music, storytelling, and conversation. More than a lecture and more than a concert, each program explores fascinating stories from our region and across Indiana through live performances and engaging discussion.
For this installment of Tunes & Tales, we’re celebrating one of Indiana’s contributions to American music: the Bean Blossom Festival.
Billy Fortune Unit Bluegrass will share the history of the Bean Blossom Festival, Indiana’s own legendary bluegrass festival. Learn about the festival’s beginnings, its place in the history of bluegrass music, the musicians who helped make it famous, and the traditions that have made Bean Blossom a beloved gathering place for bluegrass fans for generations.
And, of course, the history will be accompanied by plenty of live bluegrass music!
For this special outdoor program, we’ll gather in front of the Jefferson County History & Art Center, beside our fountain and historic train station. Come early, enjoy some refreshments, find a comfortable spot, and settle in for an evening of music and history.
