The lovely group of Island storytellers entertain children and families with original musical stories using puppetry with beautiful illustrations delivered via the unique medium of the "crankie". We are Tunes and Tales! We believe in creating stories and songs that connect with children and their caregivers, spark play and imagination, and simply encourage us to be together. We all met four years ago, singing around a kitchen table. In that safe space of sharing, laughs and lots of singing the idea of Tunes and Tales began. Now this little creative project has given us so much in the last few years and we are so grateful we get to share our stories and songs with you.
Here is a little more about us:
- Lucy is our UK-born folk musician who brings a touch of whimsy, rich harmonies, and dreamy viola magic.
- Brie is our theatre performer extraordinaire. Her boundless energy and animation breathes life into every tale we tell.
- Leah is our music teacher, songwriter, and the creative spark behind Tunes and Tales. She still can't believe she gets to do this with her friends.
We create and rehearse in each other's kitchens with kids underfoot, lots of laughter, and not nearly enough actual rehearsal time. Tunes and Tales is our love letter to childhood, imagination, and singing together.
Tickets are $17.50 plus fees and HST.
