Discover how watercolor and ink can work together to create lively, expressive artwork. In this one‑day seminar, you’ll explore the dynamic relationship between transparent watercolor and waterproof ink through demonstrations and guided exercises that encourage curiosity and play. Working from observation, you’ll experiment with line, shape, value, and color to build paintings that feel fresh, energetic, and intentional. Carolyn’s supportive teaching style helps artists of all levels push their creative boundaries while developing stronger visual habits.
Whether you’re new to mixed media or looking to expand your existing practice, this seminar offers a welcoming space to explore new techniques and spark inspiration. All supplies are included, so you can simply show up ready to paint.
A quick note about classroom etiquette: phones may absolutely be used for visual reference, but please silence calls and notifications. This is a focused, art-centered workshop, and we ask that conversations remain rooted in painting and creative exploration so that everyone can stay engaged and inspired.
NOTE: For all administrative questions—such as registration issues, cancellations, or workshop attendance—please contact Arlene’s directly. Instructors are not responsible for handling these matters. You can reach us at [email protected] or call during store hours at (518) 482-8881.
Our courses are typically held in the lower level of Arlene's. Because access to the lower level is available only by stair, please let us know if using the stairs presents any difficulty for you in advance of the class so we can make alternate arrangements. We want to make sure everyone is able to enjoy and participate in our classes.
