Focusing on active truth telling and accurate representation of First Peoples, this year’s Wurrdha Marra Annual Conversation invites leading First Nations artists to discuss their vital work reclaiming archives and reframing historical narratives in the context of their contemporary art practice.
Hosted by Professor Lisa Slade, the Hugh Ramsay Chair of Australian Art History at the University of Melbourne, the conversation will highlight contemporary art as a powerful and empowering vehicle through which to reclaim the archive.
The Wurrdha Marra Conversation is an annual series that elevates First Nations voices and truth telling. The series celebrates First Nations Australian contemporary art and artists as leading and shaping today’s critical conversations and driving contemporary discourse.
