About this Event
Join us for a True Crime Chat in Leeds!
In August 2010, the body of Gareth Williams, a Welsh mathematician and GCHQ codebreaker on secondment to MI6, was discovered inside a zipped and padlocked sports bag in the bathtub of his London flat. His unusual death sparked a complex investigation and intense speculation about his work in the intelligence services.
A coroner concluded in 2012 that he had probably been unlawfully killed, while a later police investigation suggested his death was likely accidental. Despite further forensic reviews, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unexplained.
Join us to discuss the evidence, the conflicting conclusions and one of Britain's most mysterious deaths.
