Tropism opens the new season at Astron Club, continuing its path through the darker edges of electro, techno and underground rave culture.At the centre of the night stands UMWELT — a defining figure of the French underground and one of the most distinctive voices to emerge from the 90s rave and techno movement.
For more than three decades, the Lyon-based DJ and producer has followed a path entirely his own. Through an extensive discography and his labels NewFlesh Records and Rave Or Die, Umwelt has developed an unmistakable sonic language: fierce, cinematic electro and techno, where raw machine rhythms collide with dark atmospheres, melancholia and dystopian tension.
BMSK, head and curator of Astron Club, brings a raw, industrial-driven approach to techno, balancing intense rhythms with hypnotic soundscapes. With releases on Pi Electronics, Murder Records and Diffuse Reality, his path extends from Athens to Berlin, with appearances at Tresor, ://about blank and Griessmuehle.
London-based WHIPLASH draws from years immersed in the Greek and German underground, moving across techno, industrial, electro, breaks and jagged 80s synths. Dark textures, sharp contrasts and narrative-driven selections define a sound shaped through encounters with artists such as Ancient Methods, The Hacker, Phase Fatale and Years Of Denial.
KAZTEINS completes the night, bringing his vinyl-driven perspective and long-standing connection to underground electronic music between Athens and Berlin.
