Tribunal
Rising Gothic Death-Doom force Tribunal returns with their sophomore album, ‘In Penitence and Ruin’, an elegy most grievous descending deeper into the solemn abyss of woe. 2023’s debut ‘The Weight of Remembrance’ set a high bar for the Canadians, becoming one of the year’s most notable and praised Doom releases, and its sequel has been released to no less acclaim, recently earning a coveted spot on Decibel's Best Albums of 2025 list at #11.
Conjured by the band’s new form as a fully fleshed out five-piece, ‘In Penitence and Ruin’ has a wider lens of cohesion and maturity weaving together the widow’s wail of doleful strings, chilling keys and percussion that tolls like the iron bell of fate. A conceptual piece, the songs form a cycle that ruminates on justice and punishment, centering on a guilty Penitent who cannot escape what they have done. The duality between the wistful, impassioned singing of vocalist / cellist / bassist Soren Mourne and agonized growls from guitarist / vocalist Etienne Flinn bind with resolute tread and stride forth into darkness, traversing a path lit only by the pale glow of distant lament.

Year of the Cobra
A Seattle, Washington-based melodic doom unit in the vein of heavy atmosphere-wielders like Jucifer, Helms Alee, Sleep, and Chelsea Wolfe, Year of the Cobra is a power duo based around the talents of bassist/guitarist vocalist Amy Tung Barrysmith and drummer Jon Barrysmith. Formed in 2015, the band released their debut EP, The Black Sun, shortly after inception. The record caught the attention of STB Records, which brought in Billy Anderson (Swans, Melvins, Neurosis) to produce their full-length debut, 2016's ...In the Shadows Below. A second EP, Burn Your Dead, arrived the following year, this time via Magnetic Eye Records, and in 2019 the band issued their sophomore full-length effort, Ash and Dust.

Pure Love Eternal Peace
Pure Love Eternal Peace is a psych/doom trio based in the West Kootenays. Featuring members of Bath, Severed Arm and Big Ethel, their sound is heavy and bleak. Yet beneath the weight of crushing, mournful riffs is a hypnotic beauty and catharsis.
Pure Love Eternal Peace was formed in 2020 by long time collaborators Lashen (guitar) and Michelle (drums) as a continuation of ideas and sounds they explored in their previous projects together, Amphibious Pariah and Xothogua (Montreal), that combine brooding doom metal with elements of blistering psychedelia and sludge atmospherics. In 2024 the current lineup with Rusty (Big Ethel) on vocals emerged to round out the trio, adding a visceral scream and commanding stage presence to the wall of sound. Currently they are working towards recording a full length album and touring throughout western Canada.
