A one-night, close-quarters preview of what’s coming next from Vancouver singer-songwriter David Ward — set inside an underground film studio in East Vancouver.
On March 20, David Ward takes over Franklin Commons for an intimate, 19+ album preview party built for people who like hearing records before everyone else. Expect unreleased songs, and that first-listen energy you only get before a record hits the wider world.
Blending pop, soul, and alternative, Ward’s sound is as emotional as it is dynamic. As British music magazine Uncut puts it:
“Imagine Jeff Buckley’s untethered falsetto with Stevie Wonder’s warm, grainy tenor...David Ward has mastered both, plus all points between. Ward is clearly a versatile and ambitious talent.”
This isn’t a big-stage, barrier-between-you-and-the-artist kind of night. It’s about new songs and being in the room early — in a space that feels more like a hidden screening room than a typical venue.
