About this Event
A creative afternoon with artist Nikolina Kovalenko during UN Climate Week
What if painting could help us reconnect with Nature, explore ancient mythologies, and ask the questions that lie beneath the surface of everyday life?
Join artist Nikolina Kovalenko for a free painting workshop on Governors Island, sponsored by the Taiwanese American Arts Council, during UN Climate Week.
Together, we will explore our interconnectedness with the natural world and how this relationship has found its way into our mythologies, symbols, and stories throughout history. Through painting and reflection, we will consider how these ancient ideas continue to resonate with us today.
No previous painting experience required, art materials are provided. Come with an open mind, a curious spirit, and a willingness to see the world from a different perspective.
Just a 5-minute ferry ride from Manhattan, Governors Island offers the perfect setting to step away from the noise of the city and spend an afternoon immersed in creativity, nature, and meaningful conversation.
Skip the small talk, go straight into existential questions. Take a moment to breathe and connect deeper.
