Tree Canada and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority are excited to plant trees in honour of National Tree Day. Come celebrate with us!
About this Event

Tree Canada, with the support of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, is excited to celebrate National Tree Day (NTD), presented by BMO. National Tree Day connects local action to national impact—when Canadians participate across the country, we grow a movement that reflects who we are and the future we want to build. Join us to plant 1,000 trees and shrubs in Claireville Conservation Area and connect with nature. Tree Canada experts and experienced volunteers will be on hand to support you and answer your questions. We’ll provide gloves and shovels—all you need to bring is your enthusiasm!

How you'll be making an impact

This site is part of a multi-year restoration initiative focused on expanding and enhancing the existing forest edge, naturalizing former agricultural fields, and creating high-quality wildlife habitat. These efforts will increase natural cover, support greater biodiversity, and improve the overall health and resilience of the ecosystem.

In honour of National Tree Day, volunteers will participate in digging holes, planting, watering and mulching trees and shrubs. This planting project is an important component of this phased restoration plan. Many of the native shrubs selected are flowering species that will provide valuable forage, shelter, and nesting habitat for native pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, helping to strengthen biodiversity and ecological function across the site.
