Born and raised on the Hamilton Mountain, Mike “Relics” Guarascia brings a craftsman’s eye to local history. Drawing on years of field experience across the region, he has built an extraordinary physical collection of historic artifacts unearthed right from Hamilton and the surrounding townships. What hidden stories lie just beneath the surface of our local fields, historic properties, and forgotten paths?
Before high-rise developments and paved roads, farm fields and early settlements were bustling centers of daily life – and places where coins, lost tools, and personal treasures slipped away into the dirt. Join local craftsman, authour, and metal detectorist Mike “Relics” Guarascia for an engaging journey into the world of responsible “dirt fishing.”
With over a decade of field experience and two published books (The Relic Hunter and The Relics Hoard), Mike brings local history to life through the extraordinary physical artifacts he’s recovered right here in our region – from 19th-century trade tokens and rare coinage to personal keepsakes lost generations ago.
Whether you’re a curious history enthusiast or a budding detectorist, come see the tangible pieces of the past brought back into the light!
