Travel Villa Kitchen presents our AfroTech event — the AfroTech Garden Crawl at the TSU Farm. For AfroTech week in Houston, we're bringing the city to the garden: a free community garden crawl through the farm at Texas Southern University, led with Mr. Ron of Harlem River Farms, who knows every bed and row.See the Garden Crawl platform live. This walk runs on the Farm2Chef Garden Crawl platform — and on site we'll have the Garden Crawl Visualizer up live, so you can watch the route, the stops, and the stamps come together before you walk it in the rows.Your phone is your passport. Before you come, get the free Farm2Chef app at https://farmchefconnect.com/app and make your free account. At the garden, follow the crawl in the app, stamp in at the garden stop, and earn your Garden Passport stamp — that's how we count you in, and it's how you'll hear about the next walk.Porch chat with Quin. Along the way, Quin leads a porch chat — a sit-down conversation about the garden, the harvest, and the neighborhood it feeds — and Darcy films the walk so the community can share it far and wide.Who leads, who joins: This crawl is community-led — neighbors walk first. TSU students are welcome to join us early before class. Gates open at 4:15 PM and the crawl runs 4:30–5:30 PM. Right after the walk, TSU Class 18 begins at 5:30 PM — anyone who wants to stay is welcome to stick around for it.Good to know: Free, outdoors, and family friendly. Wear comfortable shoes for garden paths. Space is limited, so please reserve your free spot here.Stay in the loop: Follow Travel Villa Kitchen on Eventbrite to be notified the moment new dates drop — and follow us on Instagram @travelvillakitchen for more from the kitchen and the farms. After the crawl — stay for Class 18 (6:00 PM). When the walk wraps at 5:30, the evening continues right here at TSU: TSU Workforce Readiness — Class 18: Chef’s Table Service Simulation runs 6:00–7:30 PM. The students cook with the harvest and practice real guest service at the chef’s table — and a room full of community guests is what makes that practice real. If you came for the crawl, you are exactly who they need at the table. It is free; reserve your seat here: TSU Workforce Readiness — Class 18: Chef’s Table Service Simulation
