Participants are invited to bring everyday ephemera that holds personal meaning, such as candy wrappers, greeting cards, tickets, maps, envelopes, wrapping paper, and stickers, and combine these materials with AGG’s own supplies. Together, we will explore collage, layering, and surface decoration using pen, marker, pastel, and more to create a unique book of meaning and memory. Bring your own sketchbook or use one provided by AGG.
16+ | All materials provided — feel free to bring any plain t-shirts or textiles from home to print on | All skill levels welcome.
Trash to Treasure is part of the Art Gallery of Guelph’s Sunshine Studio Series, a welcoming, creative, and social space where community members 16+ are invited to gather, connect, and explore their creativity through a series of guided beginner-friendly activities.
Designed for students, emerging professionals, and anyone looking to connect with others while exploring new artmaking techniques and materials. Each workshop offers an opportunity to learn something new and enjoy an evening of creativity and conversation!
This workshop is facilitated by Kira Alexanian (she/her), Programs & Digital Content Associate at the Art Gallery of Guelph.
