On Friday, November 20th, at 6:30 PM, we will gather at First Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 124 W. 6th Street in historic Uptown Marysville, to honor and remember the transgender and gender-diverse people whose lives have been taken by anti-transgender violence. We come together not only to remember those we have lost, but also to hold space for one another, recognize the lives and humanity of our transgender neighbors, and reaffirm that every person deserves to live with safety, dignity, and love.
We are especially honored to welcome local poet Kai Van Dyke as our special guest speaker. We look forward to sharing this time of remembrance with Kai and with everyone who comes to stand in solidarity with our transgender community.
Following the ceremony, we will have refreshments and time to connect with one another. We hope you will stay for a while, share a conversation, meet a new friend, or simply enjoy being in a space where you are welcome.
Whether you are transgender, part of the LGBTQIA+ community, an ally, a family member, or someone who simply believes that every life matters, there is a place for you here.
Come as you are. Bring your grief, your hope, your love, and your willingness to remember. You do not have to carry these things alone.
We look forward to gathering with you.
