Meet at The Mineola Nature Preserve, The Derby Equestrian Trailhead, 4429 SE Loop 564 Mineola, TX 75773 at the time of your reservation.
Come enjoy a ride thru the Preserve. No experience is necessary. We provide a safe experience with some basic instructions on how to stop, go, and turn the horses. These are not lessons, but just basic instructions on how to handle our specific horses for the purpose of fun and enjoyment. Children under 6 will be led by hand on their own horse until they can handle the horse on their own or ride double (in a buddy seat) with the trail guide. We also serve those more seasoned riders, who want to experience a little more freedom in your ride. However, we gear the rides to the most inexperienced riders in the entire group. All rides are under our supervision and must adhere to our instructions. You must reserve your horse by 3pm the day before the ride. We will ride approximately 2 hours. You are welcome to snack while riding as needed (bring your own snacks). We have a total of 5 horses available per ride. We will provide the horses. No riding experience necessary.
ATTIRE AND REGULATIONS: Please wear long pants and boots if possible. Otherwise, closed toed shoes with ankle support are best (no crocks or flip-flops). We will likely turn you away if you wear shorts, dresses, or inappropriate foot wear. All riders must be under 200 lbs (we reserve the right to weigh you), Minors must wear helmets. Ages 7 and up. Restrooms are located at the trail head. Please do not sign-up if you have physical issues that make it hard for you to be in the heat like high blood pressure or heart problems, also if you have back or hip issues. Also, please drink plenty of hydrating fluids prior to the ride. We will immediately contact 911 should you feel dizzy or overheated during the ride.
WAIVERS: Everyone must sign a waiver prior to riding. All children under 18 must have a legal guardian present, bring a signed waiver with them, or sign it online.PAYMENT POLICY: Payment is required in advance to secure your spot.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Please cancel/reschedule 3 hours prior to ride. Pre-payments can not be reimbursed. You may reschedule your appointment 1 time within 30 days or forfeit your payment.
