It’s that time of year again…
Join us at the farm and get into the Christmas spirit with one of our popular Christmas wreath-making workshops.
Spend a relaxed and festive 2½ hours learning how to create your own beautiful, natural Christmas wreath. You’ll be guided through building your wreath using freshly picked, locally foraged foliage, with plentiful amounts and different varieties to choose from to create a full and wonderfully natural wreath.
Then comes the really creative part – choosing from a gorgeous selection of natural and festive decorations, dried fruits, cones, berries, teasels and beautiful fabric ribbons to make your wreath completely your own.
There’s no set design to follow. We’ll be there to teach, guide and offer ideas along the way, but one of the things we love most is that no two wreaths ever turn out quite the same.
And with mulled wine, spiced apple juice and festive snacks to enjoy while you create, it’s a lovely way to get into the Christmas spirit.
Christmas at the Farm
There’s something a little different about making your Christmas wreath at the farm.
Our workshops take place in the communal greenhouse at Applefield Smallholding, surrounded by greenery and the sights and sounds of the animals. The sheep can often be found peering through the greenhouse windows, eyeing up all that lovely fresh foliage, and there’s usually an opportunity to pop over and say hello to the donkeys too.
And then there’s Max, our Border Collie, who rather enjoys wreath-making season himself. He may well be sporting some festive attire while keeping everyone company – and he has an uncanny ability to sniff out anyone who happens to have a dog treat hiding in their pocket!
Many people return to our workshops year after year, and we think the atmosphere is a big part of that. A few hours spent creating, chatting, enjoying a mulled wine and getting into the Christmas spirit has become a bit of a festive tradition for some of our regular wreath makers.

Who is this for...?
Whether you’re coming on your own, with a friend, with family or as part of a group, you’ll receive a warm welcome at the farm.
No previous wreath-making or floristry experience is needed. Whether it’s your first ever wreath or you’ve made them before, we’ll teach and guide you throughout.
Teenagers are also very welcome to join an accompanying adult. Each person will need their own booked place and will make their own wreath, and the accompanying adult must also be taking part.
Price
£45 per person
Everything you need to create your wreath is included – freshly picked foliage, natural and festive decorations and a choice of beautiful fabric ribbons, as well as mulled wine or spiced apple juice and festive snacks.
Private Wreath-Making Workshops
Over the years, we’ve been asked to run private wreath-making workshops for all sorts of festive get-togethers – groups of friends, family gatherings, birthday celebrations and work Christmas events.
They’re a lovely way to get everyone together, make something, have a few festive drinks and enjoy the run-up to Christmas.
