On Sunday afternoon, the day after her concert at Indy Folk Series, acclaimed singer-songwriter Dar Williams brings together music, storytelling, and community conversation in this inspiring and engaging Town Talk. Drawing from the remarkable stories she uncovered while travelling and writing her book, What I Found in a Thousand Towns, Dar explores the creative and often unexpected ways people build stronger, more connected communities. As she recalls, “I traveled and watched how other people created these cool things like town-wide science fairs and hilarious celebrations of potatoes and chili, often going hand-in-hand with providing serious resources like food banks and free clinics.
Alongside Dar’s stories of communities from across the country, the conversatin then turns to the meaningful work happening right here in our own community, highlighting local efforsts that foster connection, encourage civic engagement, and strenghten neighborhoods. Audience members are invited to join the discussion, share their own experiences, and celebrate the power of creativity, collaboration, and community.
Town Talk is made possible by a grant from the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and Noblesville Creates, our Regional Partner.
