Tower of Terror (1997) is a Disney made-for-TV, starring Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst, that served as the first film adaptation of a theme park attraction, based on the ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
It follows a journalist investigating the mysterious disappearance of five people from an elevator in 1939, with the story expanding on the ride's lore without using The Twilight Zone branding. 💫
The film aired on The Wonderful World of Disney and was directed by D.J. MacHale, who also co-created Are You Afraid of the Dark?, giving it a similar tone.
