About this Event

Explore, create, and connect in nature's boundless playground. Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.

We're embracing the colder months with warmth, movement and connection—Touch Grass style. Join us as we walk five sections of the London Loop, a 150-mile circular walking route that encircles the capital. Whether you’re looking for fresh air, gentle exercise, new friendships, or a moment of peace, this is your invitation to slow down and walk with us.

What is the London Loop?

The London Outer Orbital Path (aka the London Loop) is a signposted route made up of 24 sections circling Greater London. It's a mix of parkland, woodland, riverside and village paths, green corridors that many Londoners don’t even know exist.

We’ll be doing five of these sections together, and inviting you to complete the rest on your own or with other members of the Touch Grass community.

How it works:

  • Five Group Walks: We’ll meet as a community for five sections across the colder months (Oct–Feb).
  • Do the Rest, Your Way: You’re encouraged to complete additional sections on your own or with a friend. Here's a guide on walking the loop.
  • Prizes: Those who complete the most sections will receive special Touch Grass prizes—just a little love for your commitment to connection and nature. Take a snap at the start of your walk and at the end as evidence!
  • Support & Encouragement: We’ll have a WhatsApp group, walk prompts, and stories from the trail to keep everyone inspired.

For this walk, we'll be doing section nineteen of the loop. The walk will be led by Toni, she is a Mountain Training qualified Lowland Leader and is outdoor first aid trained.

Start Location: Chingford (overground)

Finish Location: Chigwell (central line)

Date: Sunday 8th February 2026

Meeting time: 10am

About Touch Grass

Touch Grass is an outdoor community for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour.

We are committed to fostering community growth through outdoor gatherings and wellness-focused trips that encourage us to rekindle our relationship with nature. Our immersive experiences go beyond relaxation — they're about empowerment, healing, and forging meaningful connections.

Our vision is for queer people of colour to see the outdoors as a space where we belong. A 2020 report by Friends of the Earth found that nearly 40% of people from minority ethnic backgrounds in England live in the most green space-deprived neighbourhoods, compared with only 14% of white people — and that people from minority ethnic backgrounds are significantly less likely to spend time in the countryside than white people. We want to change this. We deserve joyful, safe access to the emotional well-being and physical health benefits of nature too.

We believe creativity and nature go hand in hand, which is why most of our events encourage you to embrace nature and your inner creative spirit.
