About this Event
Toronto stands up for aid: renewing Canada's leadership
Let's mobilize for action in downtown Toronto! Join Results Canada at the Centre for Social Innovation (suite 101) on September 26 at 3pm for an inspiring and welcoming gathering dedicated to building the knowledge and skills to help renew Canada's leadership in international aid.
The evening will feature guest speakers, learning opportunities, and a clear action plan to create real change on this critical issue. And you’ll take collective action right then and there by writing a postcard to your Member of Parliament urging them to support international aid in Budget 2026.
We know it can feel impossible for individuals to influence government budget decisions. But together, we can help Canada reverse course and show global leadership on international aid.

CONTEXT
Canada has a longstanding legacy of supporting the health, rights, and wellbeing of people around the world. This has had a genuine impact: our world is healthier and more prosperous than it was only 20 years ago.
However, Canada has recently started following a devastating and deadly trend in global aid reduction, announcing a cut of $2.7 billion in aid over four years.
This could mean more poverty, malnutrition, and global instability if we don’t act to reverse it. In fact, 2025 will have marked the first year this century where child deaths increased – an unacceptable situation and a clear sign that we can’t cut funding now.
