Canadian director Matt Johnson (Nirvanna, The Band, The Show, The Movie) brings the extraordinary story of iconic chef, author, and broadcaster Anthony Bourdain to the big screen with Tony.Synopsis:
In this origin story of a voice that defined a generation, 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain (portrayed by Dominic Sessa, the breakout star from The Holdovers) stumbles into the chaotic world of a Cape Cod restaurant kitchen, setting off a summer that will shape the course of his life.
Tony currently sits with a 93% Fresh resting on RottenTomatoes.com with critics raving:
“Before “Anthony Bourdain,” he was just Tony, carrying raw kitchen confidential experiences with a flame to venture into parts unknown. “Tony” is a briny, consequential coming-of-age story, seasoned with a blend of authenticity, chaos and care.” – The MovieMaven
“Sessa captures Bourdain’s sardonic wit, and his performance hints at the evolution of the Anthony Bourdain we know from his writing and shows: a person who used self-deprecating humor to mock his flaws and career.” – Fort Worth Report
