Two crafts with a break in between for pizza and story. Planned with working parents' schedule in mind.
About this Event

Working parents of toddlers in South Philly and Center City know how difficult it can be finding a class to enjoy with your little ones. Most enriching activities for toddlers take place on weekday mornings- and if you're lucky enough to find a weekend class, you'll likely be stuck on a waitlist!

This class is scheduled at 5:30pm and will begin with simple coloring while we settle in, meet our new friends, and wait for everyone to arrive. Next, we'll work on our first craft and learn the S.T.E.A.M. principles it focuses on. Then, after wiping/ washing our hands, we'll enjoy a story time while grownups and little ones enjoy the pizza that's included with their ticket. After pizza, we'll work on our second craft of the day and, if your kiddo finished the project early, you are welcome to stay and color until the class ends at 6:30pm.

*This class is on the second floor, and there is no elevator nor a ramp . *

If you or your child aren't interested in the cheese pizza and water offered, you are welcome to order and pay for a separate meal or juice/ soda before class and enjoy it with the rest of us during story time. This ticket includes two slices of pizza.

Steam Engines Learning Company teaches enriching classes for toddlers up to five years old. These laid back classes celebrate all the mess, noise, and silliness that comes with having little ones around! This parent-and child (or nanny, grandparent, or other guardian!) art class is meant to help develop your child’s motor and social skills, along with building their confidence and creativity. Class includes two crafts and a story time.

S.T.E.A.M. Stands for Science, technology/ tools, engineering, arts, & math. Read below to learn why S.T.E.A.M. based activities are so important and how they are integrated into my lesson plans.

It's said that categorizing, sorting, and comparing items help toddlers begin to see the world like scientists! Creating and recognizing patterns are some of the first ways your child begins to think about math, and working with plenty of patterns may help your child more easiy understand math concepts as they get older.
