About this Event
Shasta County has one of the highest smoking rates in California. Nationally, people with behavioral health conditions have a tobacco-related death rate more than twice that of the general population. Yet many still lack effective support to quit.
Katy will provided an overview of tobacco use, how tobacco companies market, introduce the audience to emerging tobacco products, discuss tobacco use and pregnancy, and share resources and services for those interested in quitting.
Katy Dill is the Community Engagement Coordinator with Shasta County's Tobacco Prevention Program. She partners with medical and behavioral health providers to make tobacco treatment a routine part of care and to support referrals to evidence-based resources.
