Anatolian Grooves is a Prague-based neo-folk project founded by vocalist Melis Gündüz, bringing together a collective of talented musicians from different countries to reinterpret the sounds of Anatolia through a modern, groove-driven lens. Rooted in microtonal traditions and enriched with funky, rhythmic elements of Psychedelic Turkish rock, also known as Anatolian rock of the 70s, the band creates a sound that is both deeply authentic and contemporary.
Anatolian Grooves project is shaped by rich vocal textures, organic instrumentation, and an openness to improvisation. With a focus on groove, emotion, and musical dialogue, it offers a fresh take on neo-folk, where tradition meets experimentation, and every performance becomes a groovy, evolving experience.
