About this Event
Tin Can Talks is an artist talk and social event to learn new things, meet new people, and get out of the house on a Thursday, whilst still getting in bed at a reasonable hour for a school night.
TCT #2 features Allyson Mitchell presenting her talk - Nobody Asked Us To: Friendship As Infrastructure for Making Your Own Art Scene
For much of her life as an artist, making the work has also meant making the conditions for the work to exist. Through FAG (Feminist Art Gallery), Killjoy’s Kastle, 3 Minute RockStar, the Feminist Art Residency and other collaborative projects, she will talk about what can happen when artists stop waiting for permission and start building spaces, audiences, relationships and unruly forms of support for one another.
