December: Drumming in the Longest Night
An Evening of Winter Solstice, Reflection and the Returning Light
As we approach the Winter Solstice, we arrive at one of the most significant turning points in the Wheel of the Year. The longest night marks the height of winter's darkness and carries the promise of returning light.
Across many traditions, the Winter Solstice has been celebrated as a time of renewal, hope and rebirth. It reminds us that darkness is not something to fear, but an essential part of nature's cycle. Beneath the stillness of winter, the seeds of new life are already waiting.
Having journeyed through the changing seasons together, we now have an opportunity to pause and reflect upon the year behind us. To honour the experiences that have shaped us, acknowledge the challenges we have overcome and give thanks for the wisdom we have gathered along the way.
As the Sun completes its journey through Sagittarius and approaches Capricorn, we are invited to consider what gives our lives meaning, what foundations we wish to strengthen and what intentions we might carry into the next cycle.
Join us for an evening of shamanic drumming, meditation and guided journeying as we honour the Winter Solstice and celebrate the symbolic rebirth of the Sun.
Through rhythm, intention and ceremony, we will create space to embrace the darkness, honour the light within ourselves and plant the seeds of intention for the months ahead.
As we gather in community, we will celebrate the turning of the Wheel and the promise that even after the longest night, the light will return.
The evening will include:
- Collective drumming and grounding meditation
- Exploring the Winter Solstice and the returning light
- Reflecting upon the year and honouring our personal journeys
- Gratitude, intention setting and renewal
- Guided shamanic journey
- Sharing and integration
- Tea, cake and community
No experience is needed.
Bring yourself as you are, comfortable clothing, a blanket, and a drum if you have one.
We have 9 spare drums, so please let us know if you need to borrow one when booking.
Drums are available to purchase on the evening if you feel connected to one.
