За първи път в България In The Mood Jazz Club посреща номинирания за Grammy саксофонист, композитор и преподавател Tim Armacost – утвърден като един от най – отличаващите се гласове на световната джаз сцена. В два ексклузивни концерта Тим Армакост ще представи международен квартет с ярки музиканти от българската и европейската джаз сцена – пианиста Милен Кукошаров, италианския контрабасист Даниеле Феббо и барабаниста Атанас Попов.
Утвърденият американски джаз критик Britt Robson от JazzTimes го определя като „класически музикант на музикантите“ – точна формулировка за артист, чиято сила не е само в безупречната техника, а в начина, по който слуша, реагира и изгражда музика с останалите на сцената. При Tim Armacost импровизацията има посока: тя може да бъде фина и лирична, но винаги е будна, рискована и пълна с характер.🎷
През годините Tim Armacost работи с имена като Al Foster, Jimmy Cobb, Kenny Barron, Tom Harrell, Billy Hart, Jeff „Tain“ Watts, Peter Erskine, Roy Hargrove и Randy Brecker. Има 16 високо оценени албума като лидер, участва в повече от 60 записа като сайдмен и издава над 100 свои композиции и аранжименти.
Той е носител на престижната награда Doris Duke/Chamber Music America за нова авторска джаз музика, а неговата композиция и аранжимент The Repose in All Things са поръчани от Wynton Marsalis и записани от Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Наред с концертната си дейност Armacost е уважаван преподавател и част от преподавателския състав на Queens College в Ню Йорк.

For the first time in Bulgaria, In The Mood Jazz Club welcomes Grammy-nominated saxophonist, composer, and educator Tim Armacost – established as one of the most distinctive voices on the international jazz scene. In two exclusive concerts, Tim Armacost will present an international quartet featuring outstanding musicians from the Bulgarian and European jazz scenes: pianist Milen Kukosharov, Italian double bassist Daniele Febbo, and drummer Atanas Popov.
Renowned American jazz critic Britt Robson of JazzTimes describes him as “a classic musician’s musician” – an apt definition of an artist whose strength lies not only in flawless technique, but in the way he listens, responds, and creates music with the other musicians on stage. Tim Armacost’s improvisation has a sense of direction: it can be subtle and lyrical, yet it is always alert, daring, and full of character.🎷
Over the years, Tim Armacost has worked with artists such as Al Foster, Jimmy Cobb, Kenny Barron, Tom Harrell, Billy Hart, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Peter Erskine, Roy Hargrove, and Randy Brecker. He has released 16 critically acclaimed albums as a leader, appeared on more than 60 recordings as a sideman, and recorded over 100 original compositions and arrangements.
He is the recipient of the prestigious Doris Duke/Chamber Music America award for new original jazz music, while his composition and arrangement, The Repose in All Things, were commissioned by Wynton Marsalis and recorded by the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Alongside his performing career, Armacost is a highly respected educator and a member of the faculty at Queens College in New York.
