Set in the mid-1970s, The Stunt Driver is a biographical action-comedy starring Jay Baruchel as Ken Carter, "The Mad Canadian." Driven by an obsession to eclipse rival Evel Knievel (Ben Foster), Carter risks everything on a multi-year quest to jump a rocket-powered car across the mile-wide St. Lawrence River. Directed by Michael Dowse, the film blends docudrama and dark humor to tell the true story of Carter's team, including rocket engineer Dick Keller (Ed Helms) and a high-stakes promoter (Dan Bakkedahl), as they navigate financial chaos, public skepticism, and raw ambition behind one of history's most absurdly dangerous stunts.
