Chöd is a Tibetan Buddhist healing practice that cuts away negative energies from the mind and the body. Translated as, “to cut,” it involves cutting away attachments and aversions to free the mind and body of blockages to awakening and well being. Interestingly, this practice was developed by an 11th century female Yogi, Machig Lapdron. From her it was passed through Lama’s lineage to him by his teachers. To participate, one only needs to be present at the time of the healing ceremony. Lama will chant and drum while participants lay or sit comfortably on the floor or in a chair. Please bring your mat, and if you’d like, an eye pillow, a blanket, and any other props you like. We have plenty of props at the studio for your use as well!
