What can photographers learn from the world of cinema?
Photography and filmmaking share a common language , light, composition, emotion and, above all, storytelling. While a photograph captures a single moment, a film brings moments together to tell a story. Both have the power to connect with an audience and communicate beyond words.
This Thursday, we welcome Alex Camilleri, the award-winning Maltese-American filmmaker whose debut feature, Luzzu, premiered at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival. His latest film, Żejtune, received the Best International Screenplay Award at the 2026 Tribeca Festival.
For us as photographers, this is an opportunity to explore visual storytelling from a different perspective , looking beyond the technical aspects of an image and considering how we use visual elements to communicate a story, create atmosphere and evoke emotion.
Whether your passion is photography or filmmaking, join us for an evening that may inspire you to look at your next photograph a little differently.
