About this Event
Joe is a singer/songwriter/guitarist originally from New York and now living in Washington, DC. After working as a corporate executive and running several start-ups, he left the business world during the COVID pandemic in search of a more fulfilling path. That path was one he originally envisioned back when he began playing guitar at 14 years old, but which got sidetracked while he pursued a business career and started a family.
“I bought some home recording equipment to finally finish writing the songs that were in my head all these years and recorded some demos” he says. “I found the entire process liberating. I enjoyed my corporate work for the most part, but it didn’t address my passion for music. Eventually that loss of music as a part of my being and as a creative outlet caught up with me. I decided to focus my time primarily on writing, recording and performing my original songs.”
Joe has just completed his first original album, “Tales from Two Cities,” which includes songs he wrote while living in Manhattan and DC. In the Classic Rock style, the album spans Stones and Black Crowes-like bangers, Beatleesque ballads, and Latin and Jazz infused songs which take the listener on a journey fueled by stories from his time in those two cities.
“I hope these songs resonate with listeners and provide a spark pay attention to their own true passion versus working to further someone else’s objectives,” Joe encourages. “Life is comprised of what you choose to do and what you must do, and only you can determine the balance that makes you fulfilled. This is my first attempt at re-claiming that balance.”
Joe is currently playing live shows in the NYC and Washington, DC metro areas to support “Tales from Two Cities,” while working on his second album. He also plays in High Gear, a New York-based 80’s party-rock cover band.
