Dubbed the “quintessential film experience”, the Maryland Science Center’s IMAX theater, featuring a five-story high, 75-foot-wide screen, first opened in June 1987. In 2018 the theater underwent a huge upgrade, including a brand-new screen, resurfaced seating, and a change over from film to a state-of-the-art digital projection system.
