Our first Thursday Lates event of 2026 is a collaboration with the Embassy of Poland in Ireland, on the theme of Colours of Poland / Kolory Polski, celebrationg Polish colour and creativity. Join us on for a programme of free events, including pop-up talks, workshops, modern cinema, Polish cuisine and traditional music and dance. We’ll also be marking the return to the Gallery of our portrait of Countess Markievicz by her husband, the Polish artist Casimir Markevicz.
Highlights include:
🌙 Music and dance with Polish-Irish folk group Inisowiacy
🌙 Film screening – The Peasants, followed by a Q & A with special guests
🌙 Talks in Polish and in English in front of the Markievicz portrait
🌙 Wine tasting – a talk and tasting with Polish Wine Fest
🌙 Drop-in activity - Cut, Fold, Create – Wycinanki
🌙 Book signing with Patrick Quigley, author of The Markievicz Saga: A Story of Ireland, Poland and Ukraine
🍷 The Gallery Café will have Polish pierogis and wine available to purchase
