Casey Krogman, Nurse Navigator for the Reid Health Breast Center, and Ashley Filby, Oncology Social Worker, will discuss breast cancer, breast self-awareness, cancer-related distress, and caregiver support during October's Medical Monday and Thriving Thursday.Thriving Thursday is at 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 8 at the Fayette County Senior Center.
Thriving Thursday’s Community Spotlight will feature Roxie Deer, founder of the Deer Family Fund.
Sharrie Harlin, Manager of Community Engagement for Reid Health, launched Medical Monday while working with the Minority Health Coalition and continued the program after joining Reid. Thriving Thursday was added later, and both events have built loyal followings, averaging 40 to 50 attendees each month. The programs are supported by Reid Health Community Engagement.
The events are free to attend, and lunch will be provided.
