Big Gipp of Goodie Mob Joins Soul Cinema Sundays for They Cloned Tyrone Screening & Discussion!Soul Cinema Sundays returns to the Plaza Theatre on Sunday, October 11 at 4 PM for a special screening of They Cloned Tyrone, starring John Boyega, Jamie Foxx and Teyonah Parris.
The evening will open with Thomasville, a 14-minute psychodrama from Atlanta filmmaker Alex Woodruff. Inspired by his family roots in Atlanta’s Thomasville Heights neighborhood, the short explores family, legacy and the complicated relationship between fathers and sons.
Following They Cloned Tyrone, Big Gipp of Goodie Mob and Alex Woodruff will join us for an after-film discussion moderated by Atlanta Journal-Constitution journalist Christopher Daniel and hosted by poet Abyss Graham.
The conversation will explore the themes beneath both films, including Black life, identity, community, social conditioning, conspiracy and the ways film can reflect the world around us.
