Theodore Parker: An Evening with Historian and Biographer Dean Grodzins

Dean Grodzins, historian of democracy and author of American Heretic: Theodore Parker and Transcendentalism, will share his perspective on the firebrand minister and abolitionist. Learn how Parker was influenced by the promise of the American Revolution and his Lexington upbringing, how he became more radical in his views on theology and slavery, and why he once attracted thousands to his sermons and lectures and continues to be relevant today.

A Q&A, moderated by historian and co-founder of the Lexington Lyceum Kathleen Dalton, will follow the presentation.
