It wasn't a premidated choice, but we couldn't have dreamed of a better evening for the soothing tunes of Indonesian trio Thee Marloes. Anyone who loves smooth, heartwarming classic soul shouldn't miss this night—whether accompanied by a loved one or not.
Thee Marloes have made a breakthrough in the Indonesian music scene. This musical gem from Surabaya blends soul, jazz, and pop with a subtle Indonesian twist.
Natassya Sianturi (vocals/keys), Sinatrya Dharaka (guitar), and Tommy Satwick (drums) released their debut album, Perak, via Big Crown Records, gathering international attention with their infectious grooves and warm ballads. During their "Sailing Away from Perak" tour—which took them from Southeast Asia to the United States—the band proved their ability to captivate live audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds. Their latest album, Di Hotel Malibu, expands their sound while remaining rooted in the shared chemistry, groove, and songwriting that have defined the trio from the start. Lyrically, it reflects the past two years of their lives: social realities, evolving love lives, and personal issues that clash with public identities. Rather than explicitly explaining these tensions, the songs aim to make them palpable. Come and experience for yourself just how well they succeed.
Love will be in the air for sure!
