Four songwriters, soaring harmonies, and foot-stomping Americana! The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow brings a high-energy roots music celebration.
About this Event

Four songwriters. One powerhouse band. A foot-stomping, harmony-filled celebration of Americana, folk, roots, and rock 'n' roll!

What happens when four accomplished singer-songwriters join forces, trade songs, swap instruments, and let loose onstage? You get The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow, a Massachusetts-based band that's spent more than a decade turning concerts into joyful, high-energy celebrations of American roots music.

Featuring Tory Hanna, Chris Merenda, Greg Daniel Smith, and David Tanklefsky, The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow brings together four distinct musical personalities, each with a gift for songwriting and a love of collaboration. Their sound moves effortlessly between gritty rock 'n' roll, heartfelt folk ballads, driving Americana, and rootsy singalongs, all tied together by rich vocal harmonies, infectious energy, and the kind of musical chemistry that makes every show feel like a gathering of old friends.

The band began in 2014 as a four-night musical road trip inspired by the Whiskey Treaty Festival in western Massachusetts. What started as a short-lived collaboration took on a life of its own when a documentary about the project attracted attention at regional film festivals. The musicians kept playing together, building a devoted following and earning a reputation for their exhilarating live performances.

Since then, they've appeared at some of the country's most respected festivals, including FreshGrass, Green River Festival, The Rock Boat, Levitate Flannel Jam, and the Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival. They've also earned three New England Music Award nominations for Best Roots Act, taking home the award in 2022.

Their debut studio album, Band Together, featured an impressive cast of collaborators, including Steve Gorman of The Black Crowes, Pat Sansone of Wilco, and folk legend Arlo Guthrie, with production by Johnny Irion. The album drew praise from Rolling Stone, No Depression, and American Songwriter. Their subsequent releases, including Recovered and Late Night Laid Back...and Live, showcase both their versatility and their deep commitment to making music together.

That commitment extends beyond the stage. During the pandemic, the band's Recovered project raised more than $20,000 for out-of-work service workers, earning them a community service award. They've also created their own annual Berkshire music festival, Mountain Day, bringing hundreds of music lovers together each summer.

But the real magic of The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow happens live. Songs are passed around, instruments change hands, harmonies soar, and the energy builds until it's nearly impossible to sit still.
