In this presentation, Dr. Erin O'Daniel, DC, CACCP, Webster Certified, invites us to look beneath the surface and begin the real preparation for VBAC: one that starts from the inside out.
Drawing on the principles of neurologically-focused chiropractic care, Dr. Erin walks through how unresolved tension, stored stress, and fascial restrictions from a previous birth can quietly shape the body's readiness for labor and what we can do about it. Through the Webster Technique, she explores how optimizing pelvic alignment and nervous system balance creates the conditions for the body to do what it was brilliantly designed to do.

This session introduces the science and the practice of infant massage, exploring how a few intentional minutes each day can reduce infant stress, support healthy weight gain, strengthen the parent-child bond, and have lasting effects well into childhood.

The 45-minute presentation will begin with a brief introduction to Alison, her family, and her work, supported by a brief visual slideshow featuring personal family birth experiences and photographs from births she has attended, including VBACs. From there, Alison will explore the importance of creating a positive, connected environment around birth and how the hormonal and emotional experience of birth can influence the people surrounding the birthing mother.
The presentation will then move into practical ways parents can prepare and include their children in the birth experience—whether children will physically attend the birth or simply be part of the preparation and anticipation. Families will receive practical resources and age-appropriate activities to take home and use together.

Alison will conclude by introducing and reading Rosie’s Birth Circle, her children’s picture book.
