A rare gemstone may be highly desirable, but does that necessarily make it easy to sell?
And when we acquire something valuable, how do we decide whether to enjoy it, protect it, keep it or eventually pass it on?
Beyond beauty and rarity, what makes something valuable?
Welcome to The Value Lab, a new interactive workshop experience by The Gem Museum.

In this two-hour, hands-on experience, you’ll examine gemstones, compare different choices and participate in interactive challenges that reveal how information, priorities and changing circumstances influence our decisions.
This isn’t a workshop about investing in gemstones.
And it isn’t a conventional financial seminar.
Instead, we’ll use gemstones as a starting point to explore how we understand value, weigh our choices and make decisions about the things that matter to us.
No previous knowledge of gemstones or finance is required.

The Value Lab is designed for curious adults, including gemstone enthusiasts, collectors, professionals, couples and friends.
Whether you enjoy discovering beautiful gemstones, are interested in understanding what makes things valuable, or simply appreciate thought-provoking experiences, you’re welcome to join us.

Loke Hui Ying
Co-founder, The Gem Museum
Gemologist & Financial Consultant, Orion Wealth
Hui Ying brings together her experience in gemology, museum education, entrepreneurship and financial consulting.
Through The Value Lab, she invites participants to explore how the principles we encounter when examining and evaluating gemstones can offer fresh perspectives on value, ownership and decision-making.
