What are my clothes made of, and what happens when I’m done with them?
Get up close with fibres and fabrics, uncover the true cost of fast fashion, follow the surprising global trade in second-hand clothing, and explore the circular ideas changing how we make, wear and rewear. Join Ellen from Clothes Minded for a fun, interactive night that will change the way you see your wardrobe.
Your Speaker:
Ellen Chandler
Ellen Chandler is the founder of Clothes Minded, a sustainable fashion change agency on a mission to make the industry better through education, community and practical resources. Taught to sew by her grandmother, Ellen studied Fashion and Marketing at QUT, where she now tutors. A trip to Bangladesh, where she saw everything from a fair trade village to a mega-factory, changed the way she thought about the clothes we wear. Since founding Clothes Minded in 2020, she’s taken sustainable fashion into classrooms with her Wear The Future workshops and into pubs with Triv-Wear Pursuit trivia nights. Her belief is simple: we all wear clothes, so we all have a part to play.
