About this Event
400 years ago, the Samuel family were tried in Huntingdon on the site of the current Town Hall, accused of witchcraft in the most notorious case of its time...
Over three years Alice Samuel had been accused of bewitching the local landowners, the Throckmorton family and murdering Lady Susan Cromwell. But what were the circumstances that led to the trial? How did an entire village descend into hysteria and a belief in magic?
We are staging a dramatic recreation of these events based on original accounts, involving a trial as an immersive experience in the atmospheric surroundings of the old courtroom.
Booking essential. Seating is unassigned.
Performances last 90 minutes. Please let us know if you require wheelchair access.
