Step into the turbulent world of 1649 as history comes alive!About this Event
Join the University of Nottingham's History of Law and Governance Research Centre for a dramatic reconstruction of The Trial of Charles I at Nottingham’s National Justice Museum. Two modern barristers guide us through a historic courtroom battle over treason, tyranny, and royal accountability—and you hold the final verdict. Following the verdict, leading academics will unpack the legal and political questions raised by the trial, and what these questions mean to us today. Taking place on 6 November, 18:30–20:00, the event is open to all. Admission is free, but tickets are essential.
